Rowroundrobin Add a block swap

Today I finished Sue's Cats and flowers Add a block. I was missed in this swap so I didn't see the other blocks. Sue just emailed me and told me her background fabric was light blue and she wanted realistic cats and flowers. I ended up doing a Siamese.

Quilting Sisters Round Robin

This is my next Round robin to work on. It is Carol's RR and it is called Confetti. It really is a brain teaser for me. I have had my thinking cap on for weeks and it is time I got stuck into it. I am going to try doing bow ties or a square in a square. Tomorrow I will start sewing so it will be interesting to see which way I decide to go. I really enjoy doing round Robins and this one is the first that has really stumped me.

UFO's

Yesterday I went to Wagga Wagga for an afternoon tea and ended up buying myself a digital camera. I have wanted one for some considerable time but another more important bill always came up. Well, yesterday I put all on hold and just blew my money on a very basic Kodak camera. It will do everything I want it to do.

Last night I finished Ronda's teapot, maybe I should have done a different coloured lid but she loves pansy's so I thought I would do the whole teapot in the pansy fabric. Her swap is looking great.

I also finished my pin cushion for our local quilt group. I am very happy with the end result and this will go into my advent swap at Christmas. I was very happy with the end result and will make some more for other swaps.
Today I took photos of a lot of my UFO's and am going to put them up on my webshots hoping I will soon be able to move them from the UFO albumn to finished quilts albumn.

SCQIS Theme Swap Velvetines

I have finally put together the Betty Boop theme swap with SCQIS that I did last year. This quilt is for my sister's granddaughter Rose's 18th Birthday party. Rose is mad about Betty Boop. I have previously made a 'Rose' quilt for her but as this was a special birthday decided to finish her quilt for her. I used the 'Quilt as you Go' option for this quilt but found the fabric for the sashes moved considerably as I was sewing them on to the quilt even though I had them ironed with vliesofix. I think the fabrics I used were too flexible. The back turned out fabulous but some of the front fabric puckered.

Quilting Sisters Round Robin

My next Round Robin belongs to Debi. This is the 2nd swap I have been in with Debi. Her colours really shook me as I had never thought of mixing the colours together but I really like the end result. I decided to keep to the black and white and put a palm tree similar to the pattern Debi used herself in the center. The next round I took the flying geese from the pineapple block and used the green to picture the center rounds.

Round Robin Experience

I am doing a Round Robin with The Quilting Sisters. Due to a shortage of ladies in the swap I am doing two rounds on each quilt top. I have just finished Cindy's Red and White Round Robin. I really try to stick to the colours of the original quilt. I am not a person to change the colour of a quilt.

I really loved these doves when I saw them on a Quilt in Australian Patchwork and Quilting but I couldn't get the same effect so I changed the tails and made them into dresden plate type tails. I was very happy with the end result. I always worry if the lady will like her swap.

Today I have created my own blog. I am sure it is going to take some time to set it up and for me to understand it properly.

I participate in a lot of swaps and my mail purpose is to involve readers in my Quilting swapping experiences.

My latest creation is for a Theme swap. The Theme was Your Favourite toys. I don't remember too many toys as a child but I do know that we loved the Mickey Mouse club and
couldn't wait for it to come on the TV.
